Lucy Winer is a director and producer known for the documentary Kings Park: Stories from an American Mental Institution and the creator of Unlocked, a video library and curriculum for researchers, students and professors of psychiatry and psychology.

Lucy’s personal experience of being committed to Kings Park as a teenager in the late 1960’s drew her to the stories of other patients, the caregivers, the doctors, and even the law enforcement officers involved in the running of state hospitals before de-institutionalization.
